February 12, 2026: The 33rd edition of the annual Mahashivratri celebrations at the Isha Yoga Center will be held on February 15, 2026, with India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attending as the Chief Guest.
The night-long spiritual gathering, guided by yogi and mystic Sadhguru, will also see the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs L. Murugan, along with other prominent dignitaries.
Organized by the Isha Foundation, the event is expected to reach more than 140 million viewers globally through live broadcasts on over 100 television channels and digital platforms in 23 Indian and international languages.
Rituals and Sacred Offerings
The celebrations will commence with the Pancha Bhuta Kriya at the Dhyanalinga, a ritual honoring the five elements—earth, water, fire, air, and space. The Linga Bhairavi Maha Yatra, a grand procession celebrating the divine feminine, will follow, setting the tone for a night of devotion, meditation, and cultural performances.
For the first time, Sadhguru will personally conduct the Yogeshwara Linga Maha Abhishekam, a sacred ritual open to global devotees, offering an opportunity to connect with the consecrated energy form.
At midnight, participants will be led through the Mahamantra initiation, followed by a powerful guided meditation during Brahma Muhurtam at 3:40 a.m., designed to align with what Sadhguru describes as the night’s unique planetary configuration.
Cultural Performances and Yaksha Festival
The evening will feature diverse musical performances blending classical, folk, and contemporary traditions. Artists scheduled to perform include Aditya Gadhvi, Prashant Sonagra and team, Sounds of Isha, Swaroop Khan, Blaaze, Paradox, Swagat Rathod, and Prithvi Gandharv.
Leading up to Mahashivratri, Isha’s classical arts festival Yaksha will host:
-
Carnatic vocalist Sikkil Gurucharan (February 12)
-
Hindustani vocalist Rahul Deshpande (February 13)
-
Bharatanatyam dancer Meenakshi Srinivasan (February 14)
Adiyogi Divya Darshanam
A key highlight of the night will be the Adiyogi Divya Darshanam—a light and sound presentation that illuminates the 112-foot Adiyogi statue at the Isha Yoga Center. The statue was inaugurated in 2017 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and has since become a landmark spiritual symbol.
With Sadhguru narrating the origins of yoga, the presentation aims to create a deeply immersive experience for the tens of thousands attending in person and millions watching worldwide.
A Global Spiritual Gathering
Mahashivratri, known as the “Great Night of Shiva,” is considered a spiritually significant night marked by heightened natural energies conducive to meditation and inner growth. Held at the foothills of the Velliangiri Mountains—often referred to as the “Kailash of the South”—the event has evolved into a major international spiritual occasion, frequently attended by public leaders, cultural icons, and spiritual figures.
The 12-hour celebration will begin at 6 PM IST on February 15 and will be streamed live globally on Sadhguru’s YouTube channels and major television networks.
