Sambhal Violence: In the midst of tensions brewing over the violence in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, the Moradabad Division Commissioner, Anjaney Kumar Singh, issued a strong statement. Addressing the media, Singh confirmed that 27 people had been arrested by Wednesday, while three more were taken into custody on Thursday in connection with the violence.

Singh criticized the culprits, saying that some of the women who took part in stone-pelting were not highly educated, while even after being cautioned, an elderly woman had thrown stones. He emphasized that anyone who resorted to stone-throwing would not be met with "flowers."

The Commissioner further disclosed that local authorities were on high alert and had made specific preparations for Friday's Jumu'ah prayers. In order to ensure peace during the Friday prayers, Singh said he would lead a foot march along with officials and the Peace Committee. He also reassured the public that sensitive areas were being monitored closely, and the police had intensified security measures with 16 PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary) companies deployed across the region.

Singh explicitly announced that any outside elements which seek to instigate violence will be closely watched; even social media will be scrutinized for inflammatory content. These comments were meant to achieve peace and order in that region, allowing the community to religiously perform their duties, while also ensuring the safety and security of all its members.

The Commissioner's words highlight how seriously the administration takes the ongoing situation in Sambhal by reiterating that law and order are high on the list in the area.
