Who Is Jind SP Sumit Kumar? IPS officer accused of sexually harassing 7 female officers
Such a serious case of alleged sexual misconduct is against Sumit Kumar, the SP in the Haryana district of Jind, who faces complaints from seven ladies police officers. The complaint came out as a letter addressed to the Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini in which they have narrated their experiences and sought immediate action. Alarming Allegations in the Complaint
The letter, signed by various lady officers, finds a hostile work environment through allegations of harassment by the SP of female staff. Officers say that if things don't get better, they will have to resort to extreme steps. The seven officers allege harassment, claiming the SP has been consistently inappropriate towards them.

In their complaint, the women officers also pointed finger at Jind SHO Mukesh Rani accused of creating an inappropriate environment. They said she once took a lady officer to the SP's residence and left her there, after which the lady officer was misbehaved with by the SP. Another DSP Geetika is accused of not taking complaints seriously and allegedly advising the women to "cooperate with senior officers."
It brings in some very serious charges against SHO Mukesh Rani and alleges that she and SP Sumit Kumar ran a racket in which several women were involved. The complaint alleged that these women would trap well-off men in false cases and later settle the cases for money. She is also accused of harassment of officers who refused to "cooperate" with the SP.
These developments have called for full-scale investigations and public attention to how the government as well as the police authorities will react to these shocking claims.
