SP Jind Case: IPS Aastha Modi Records Statements in Harassment Probe

In the very latest case of sexual harassment allegations against SP Jind, IPS officer Aastha Modi has recorded statements from all the lady staff stationed in Jind whose names had been mentioned in the complaint letter.

On October 19, a team of 19 women police personnel from Jind went to Fatehabad to take statements in the inquiry. IPS officer leading the inquiry, Aastha Modi, said that no credible evidence has surfaced in this case. The complaint was even found to be filed by an unknown person under a fake identity.

This case is a clear reminder that harassment cases should be well probed so that justice and fairness are met. IPS Modi said that such matters are treated with utmost care and due diligence to protect reputations and well-being. Preliminary findings have shown that the accusations lack substance, and all details will be verified in-depth.
So far, this incident seems to be a wrong accusation against SP Jind. It is supposed to have been done to defame or malter images of individuals involved. This time too proved that in grave accusations, verification of information must be done before presenting it.
