Swati Maliwal Posts Draupadi Disrobing Image After Bibhav Kumar Granted Bail

The image Maliwal shared portrays the scene where Dushasana attempts to disrobe Draupadi, a moment symbolic of the struggle and dishonor faced by the character.

Delhi, September 3 — Swati Maliwal, leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), posted an image depicting the disrobing of Draupadi by Dushasana, a character from the Hindu epic Mahabharata, on social media just a day after Bibhav Kumar was granted bail by the Supreme Court.

The image Maliwal shared portrays the scene where Dushasana attempts to disrobe Draupadi, a moment symbolic of the struggle and dishonor faced by the character. This act is seen in the context of the Mahabharata’s narrative, where the divine intervention of Lord Krishna helps protect Draupadi from being dishonored. Maliwal did not provide any additional commentary alongside the image.

Bibhav Kumar, former aide to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, was accused of assaulting Maliwal on May 13 at the Chief Minister's residence. Kumar was subsequently arrested by police. Following his bail on September 2, the Supreme Court imposed conditions restricting Kumar from entering the Chief Minister’s residence and forbidding him from discussing the case until all crucial evidence is examined.

In her First Information Report (FIR), Maliwal accused Kumar of serious offenses, alleging that he had severely violated her dignity and threatened her. "He subjected me to repeated assaults without any provocation, attacked my chest and back, and deliberately tore my clothing," Maliwal claimed.

Maliwal, who is a Rajya Sabha member from AAP and a former chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), has used her platform to highlight issues of harassment and injustice.
