A 34-year-old software engineer has been arrested in Theni, Tamil Nadu, by the Dindigul district police in association with the cybercrime unit of Delhi. Misusing DMK Leader's SIM in Obscene Case
This SIM card is stated to have been stolen nearly a decade back. According to reports, the accused has also managed to keep the government worried for more than nine years. The SIM card in question is registered to a local DMK functionary, Chinna, who reported losing it at a political meeting held in 2015. Subsequently, the New Delhi police officers went to Chinna's residence and seized his SIM card with an FIR filed against him on the grounds that the said SIM card was used to send obscene photos to a woman in Delhi. At Delhi High Court, Chinna's lawyer proved that Chinna had misplaced his SIM card at a political rally. It was due to some unknown individuals who misused this SIM for illicit acts. Chinna lodged complaints with the Delhi and Batlagundu police to identify the perpetrator.
