Tech-Savvy Car Thieves Arrested in Ghaziabad, Eight Stolen Vehicles Recovered

A car theft gang using technology to bypass locks and reprogram keys was busted in Ghaziabad. Three members were arrested, and eight stolen cars, including luxury models, were recovered. The gang operated from a Jodhpur warehouse, and police are investigating further leads to catch other accomplices.

 

Ghaziabad: In a major breakthrough in car-napping cases, the Ghaziabad police and Crime Branch have arrested three members of a gang involved in stealing high-value cars by utilizing advanced technology. The gang specialized in hacking car keys and bypassing locks to commit robberies. The recovered eight stolen vehicles include Swift, Brezza, Maruti Fronx, and Honda City cars.

In terms of tools used for coding, the gangs used something as simple as a tablet and data cables with fake documents to sell the car; otherwise, in some instances, they broke down the cars into parts that they could sell. Among items recovered were seventeen remote-controlled car keys with chips, used in their operations.

Among those arrested are Shakeel alias Bhurwa and Mohammad Haseen from Meerut, and Sameer from Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Sameer had hired a warehouse in Jodhpur to keep the stolen vehicles. The police are questioning the accused and following up leads on other members of the gang. Efforts are being made to nab the remaining accomplices involved in the operation.
