Train Derailment in Jabalpur: Somnath Express Derails Just Before Platform, No Injuries Reported
A major train accident occurred in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, on Saturday morning when two coaches of the Somnath Express derailed just 200 meters before reaching the platform. The incident caused panic among passengers, but fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported. Authorities quickly arrived at the scene to assess the situation.
The derailment occurred at around 5:50 AM as the train, numbered 2291, was arriving from Indore. Harshit Srivastava, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of West Central Railway, provided details, stating that the train was approaching platform number 6 at Jabalpur station when the two coaches derailed. Thankfully, the train was moving at a very slow speed as it was about to stop, preventing any harm to the passengers.
All passengers remained safe and have since continued their journeys home. Authorities are investigating the cause of the derailment to ensure further safety measures.
