US Tips Off on Anmol Bishnoi, Mumbai Police Gears Up for Action
In an effort to tighten the noose around Lawrence Bishnoi's gang, U.S. authorities recently informed Mumbai Police about the presence of Lawrence’s younger brother, Anmol Bishnoi, in the United States. Following this intelligence, Mumbai Police has initiated extradition procedures, and last month, the Crime Branch approached a special court for assistance.
Mumbai Police Moves to Extradite Anmol Bishnoi
According to The Indian Express, on October 16, Mumbai Police informed the court of its intention to pursue Anmol’s extradition concerning the case involving shots fired outside Salman Khan’s residence. With Lawrence behind bars, Anmol is allegedly responsible for several key operations, including the April incident at Salman Khan’s home. Anmol has also been linked to the murder of NCP leader and former MLA Baba Siddiqui. Last week, the NIA announced a reward of ₹10 lakh for Anmol, stating that he faces 18 cases, including one for allegedly providing logistical support and weapons to those involved in the 2022 killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.
The Indian Express report also notes that Anmol’s name appeared in the Salman Khan case chargesheet, which led to the issuance of a Red Corner Notice (RCN). U.S. authorities contacted Indian officials about Anmol’s suspected presence in their country, although it remains unclear if he is in custody.
Mumbai Police has since submitted essential documents, with the Home Ministry coordinating with the Ministry of External Affairs and U.S. officials. Meanwhile, Canada’s police have linked the Bishnoi gang to alleged plots of violence on Canadian soil. These accusations, however, have been denied by New Delhi.

Anmol’s alert also gains significance amid a case involving Khalistan supporter Gurpatwant Singh Pannu. Recently, Vikas Yadav was named as a prime suspect in Pannu's alleged murder plot, with a possible connection to Lawrence Bishnoi emerging through Yadav’s previous extortion case.
