Wedding at Ghaziabad Temple Premises Triggers Uproar, Operator Arrested

Controversy erupted in Ghaziabad when a wedding was held within a temple complex, sparking protests from Hindu groups. The banquet hall operator was booked for mismanagement, and authorities are investigating the use of the temple premises.

 

Ghaziabad: A wedding held at the Shiv Shakti Dham temple in Govindpuri, Ghaziabad, has landed in a controversy. The so-called wedding ceremony was held at a banquet hall on the temple campus on November 18. Hindu outfits reported protesting over this marriage and the situation became tense.

A woman named Shabnam booked the banquet hall on October 1 under a yearly contract of ₹2 lakh with Manoj Saxena. The wedding party had arrived from Loni, Ghaziabad. After the commotion, police intervened and restored order. Police filed a case against Manoj Saxena for disturbing the peace.

Manoj has already been arrested, and all investigations will be conducted to know whether there was any violation on the use of the temple premise for such other activities than spiritual use. Such an incident raises concerns over the usage of temple facilities and their management.
