Who is DM Anuj Singh? The IAS Officer Who Took Immediate Action Against Corruption

Singh, who has held various significant positions, including Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Banda and Bijnor, Chief Development Officer (CDO) of Gorakhpur, and Vice Chairman of Gorakhpur Development Authority, has demonstrated a strict zero-tolerance policy towards corruption.
 

MORADABAD, India – IAS Anuj Singh, the District Magistrate (DM) of Moradabad, has made headlines for his decisive action against corruption within his administration. Singh, who has held various significant positions, including Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) in Banda and Bijnor, Chief Development Officer (CDO) of Gorakhpur, and Vice Chairman of Gorakhpur Development Authority, has demonstrated a strict zero-tolerance policy towards corruption.

 

Singh's latest move involved suspending Sachin Sharma, a stenographer working under the SDM of Thakurdwara, for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹50,000 from a farmer. In addition to this suspension, Singh also removed SDM Mani Arora from his position. Preeti Singh, the First Additional Municipal Magistrate, has been appointed as the new SDM of Thakurdwara in Arora’s place.

 

Anuj Singh, a 2013 batch IAS officer, hails from Chapra, Bihar, and holds a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering from IIT Delhi. Prior to his assignment in Moradabad, Singh served as the DM of Sitapur. His career includes important roles in Banda and Bijnor as SDM, as well as high-profile positions in Gorakhpur and Hapur.
