Woman in Burqa Kidnaps 2-Year-Old from Howrah-Amritsar Express, Investigation Underway

A shocking incident has come to light from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, where a 2-year-old girl named Naira was kidnapped from a moving train. The abduction occurred while the family, hailing from Khanna, Punjab, was traveling on the Howrah-Amritsar Express after attending a family wedding in Dhampur, Bijnor.

According to reports, the family boarded the train at Dhampur station around 11 PM, with Naira’s parents, Neha Khan and her husband, settling into their seats. Neha put her daughter to sleep, while her husband was using his phone. After a short while, he too fell asleep. At around midnight, he briefly woke up and saw the child still next to them. However, when Neha woke up as the train neared Jagadhri station, she noticed that Naira was missing.

Panic-stricken, the family immediately searched the train and informed the onboard police. Despite a thorough search conducted by the passengers and police, the child was nowhere to be found. The family was then directed to Saharanpur GRP police station, where they filed a formal missing and abduction report.

Upon reviewing CCTV footage from Saharanpur railway station, police discovered a woman in a burqa carrying the child on her shoulder as she walked on the platform. Unfortunately, the footage did not capture her face clearly, making identification difficult.

A passenger seated next to the family informed them that a woman had sat near them for a short time and got off the train just before it halted at Saharanpur station, taking the child with her.

GRP Moradabad SP Ashutosh Shukla, who received the report at 3:30 AM, stated that all necessary steps are being taken to locate the woman and recover the child. The police are investigating the CCTV footage to track down the suspect and are hopeful that Naira will be found soon.
