Farmers Stage Massive Protest in Greater Noida, Demand Fair Compensation

Farmers held a massive Mahapanchayat in Greater Noida, led by the United Farmers’ Front. Thousands, including women, marched to the Greater Noida Authority to demand fair compensation for acquired land, employment for farmers' children, and other resolutions. The protest will escalate to an indefinite sit-in, later moving to the Yamuna Authority and culminating in a march to Delhi Parliament on December 2.

 

Raising the land struggle led by the United Farmers' Front, thousands of farmers and their women, at the end, marched out to the Greater Noida Authority. The event was witnessed with the presence of notable leaders Rakesh Tikait and Hannan Mollah, who stated that this movement has reached a crucial stage.

The Mahapanchayat, which began on November 25, will have an indefinite sit-in until November 27. From November 28 to December 1, protests will shift to the Yamuna Authority, culminating in a march to Delhi Parliament during the winter session on December 2.

The farmers have sought fair compensation of acquired land, employment and rehabilitation benefit for the owner farmers and the landless farmers, and orders from the government to implement the resolutions passed by a high-power committee.
