Noida International Airport is going to make history with its first trial flight scheduled for December 9. The trial will continue until December 15 and test the facilities, safety protocols, and operational capabilities of the airport. The trial runs will be unmanned flights collecting data, with no passengers on board.
The trials will be undertaken by the Airport Authority of India. It is scheduled that the first flight will land at 11 a.m. after a two-hour trial in the surrounding airspace. This state-of-the-art airport will be one of the busiest and most advanced airports in India, boosting domestic as well as international connectivity to enhance economic growth.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the Noida Airport on November 26, 2021. The airport will begin its commercial operations by April 2025 with a schedule of 30 flights, which would comprise 25 domestic, three international, and two cargo flights. The first passenger flight is likely to be on April 17, 2025, connecting Singapore and Dubai. Construction is taking place at a rapid pace with most of the infrastructures almost complete.
