Noida International Airport Achieves Milestone with First Flight Landing in Jewar
For the first time, an aircraft landed successfully at the historic Uttar Pradesh's Noida International Airport located in Jewar. IndiGo A320 NEO marked the start of the test operation for Asia's biggest airport. Pictures and videos of this occasion are going viral on social media, as the new airport is taking the steps towards completion.
Opening Schedule of Jewar Airport
The Noida International Airport, which is being touted as Asia's largest, is nearing completion. Trial runs are already on, and commercial operations will begin in April 2025. Known as Jewar Airport, its development represents a major initiative by the Uttar Pradesh government.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone in November 2021. It has a 3,900 meters long and 60 meters wide runway for it to cater to high volume air traffic. Tickets would go on sale from February 6, with projected annual passenger numbers reaching 70 million by 2050.
Future Perspective
This landmark project, on completion, will not just improve India's aviation structure but also enhance regional connectivity and boost economic growth. "Trial flights are still undergoing. The airport is to get ready to cater for the passengers and become a global place in significance," it concludes.
