Noida School Scandal: Fake Instagram Account Harasses Students, Police Step In!
Noida, India: It was marred when an unknown prankster or culprits created a fake Instagram account in the name of the Marigold Public School in Noida's Sector 19, posted pictures of children, accompanied by obnoxious and lewd remarks, for which the local police were sought to be brought in control over the issue as the news has been bringing a wave of shock throughout the school fraternity.
Details about the case and action from the School
The principal of Marigold Public School, Sanjoy Kumar, lodged a complaint at Sector 20 Police Station stating that some unknown person had created an Instagram account in his name and was posting photographs of students with offensive and inappropriate captions. This was damaging the reputation of the students and the school very fast.
"This exposure has hit the morale of our students and the goodwill of our school in disrepute," Kumar lamented. The students were equally as disturbed as were their parents, he further averred.
School's Concern About the Safety of Its Students
Principal Kumar continued and said that these were serious criminal intentions. He feels that the person who posted these could be planning or forcing the students into doing some sort of crime. Kumar asked for the immediate action of the police as a measure to secure students and to avoid further scandal regarding the school.
Police Action Is Underway
Sector 20 Police Station Inspector DP Shukla confirmed that a case has been registered based on the complaint of the school. The police are investigating into the matter and are making efforts to identify the individuals responsible for the fake account and defamatory posts. The inspector assured that appropriate measures are in place so that no further harm may be caused to the students.
The case comes as an evidence of the level of vigilance and responsible actions that children in schools and institutions need when tackling digital safety cases.
