Uttar Pradesh Forms 5-Member Committee to Solve Farmers' Issues Amid Noida Protest

The committee, headed by IAS Anil Kumar Sagar, Principal Secretary of Infrastructure and Industrial Development, is expected to submit its report within one month.

In a major step to address the issues, the Uttar Pradesh government has responded to the massive farmers' agitation that took place in Noida and Greater Noida for the last two days. A 5-member committee has been formed by the state government, which will deliberate and submit a report on the issues. The committee, headed by IAS Anil Kumar Sagar, Principal Secretary of Infrastructure and Industrial Development, is expected to submit its report within one month.

It's a large-scale protest among farmers that has gained wide attention as they staged big processions in Noida and Greater Noida. About 20 districts' farmers had initiated the march to Parliament Complex from Monday but were halted at UP-Delhi border by authorities. It was because of long-standing issues regarding land acquisition, compensation, and other demands for better welfare and support from the government that fueled these protests.

The 5-member committee, as per the official order, also includes key members from the Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department. Along with IAS Anil Kumar Sagar, the committee comprises:

IAS Piyush Sharma, Secretary of the Infrastructure and Industrial Development Department
Sanjay Khatri, Additional Chief Executive Officer (ACEO) of Noida
Saumya Srivastava, ACEO of Greater Noida
Kapil Singh, ACEO of YEIDA

This committee is now working to find out what causes the farmers' agitation and to come up with some viable solutions. The committee will work on a comprehensive action plan to understand the concerns of the farmers and take suitable steps in this regard. The relief is expected to come for the farmers who are agitating for their rights and for better compensation for land taken for development projects.

The formation of this 5-member committee by the UP government reflects its seriousness in finding an amicable solution and improving relations with the protesting farmers. The state government has stressed the urgency of resolving the issues at hand and ensuring the welfare of the farmers in the region.

It is hoped that with the committee in place, the situation in Noida and Greater Noida will ease and that a solution will be found to the pressing issues of the farmers. The final report is expected to provide a roadmap to redress the grievances of the farmers and bring peace to the region.
