The process to update the Aadhaar Card online free

You can update your Aadhaar details online with ease by following the following steps.

Visit the UIDAI Website: Check myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.
Click on Update Section: Under the 'My Aadhaar', tap on 'Update Your Aadhaar'
Initiate the updating process: Tap 'Update Aadhaar Details (Online)' and click on 'Document Update.'
Enter Aadhaar Number: Type in your Aadhaar number, fill in the CAPTCHA, and click 'Send OTP.'
Verify with OTP: Enter your OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
Select to Update: Select any of the details, name, address, date of birth, etc., you want to update.
Upload documents: Share necessary documents for the updation process.
Submit Request: You have completed the update procedure and saved your Update Request Number (URN) to track.

Other Important Points in Aadhaar Updation

Biometric Update: Changes related to iris and fingerprints or photographs require an offline updation.
One-Time Updates: Please note that you can update your date of birth and gender just once.

Offline Update Procedure

To update the Aadhaar offline, follow the procedure below:

Download the Update Form: You can obtain the Aadhaar enrolment/update form from the UIDAI website.
Go to an Aadhaar Centre: Present the form and documents at an Aadhaar Enrolment Centre or Aadhaar Sewa Kendra.
Submission of Biometric Data: Present for biometric data capture.

Obtain a receipt with your URN for monitoring your application.

Extension of Deadline for Aadhaar Update

Due to be implemented on June 14, 2024, the free Aadhaar update exercise has been rescheduled twice—first up to September 14, 2024, and now to December 14, 2024.

Thereafter, Aadhaar correction and/or update will be charged. So, any Aadhaar correction or update needs to be completed before the deadline to avoid extra charges.
