African Groom, California Bride Tie the Knot in Uttar Pradesh, Guests from 12 Countries Attend

The bride’s family, originally from the area, chose their ancestral village for the celebrations, symbolizing a blend of global and Indian traditions.

 

A Bulandshahr wedding which saw the union of an African groom and a Californian bride over 12 international guests talking to the town has become the talk of the town. Groom comes in with great baraat in Syana, Uttar Pradesh. Bride came all the way from California. These weddings took place in Indian style with Vedic chants and rituals with traditional Indian garb. It all became viral on social media.

Celebrating the union of the couple with cultural highlights and a fusion of traditions, the Vedic scholars had performed the rituals, and the ceremony had concluded with a sacred fire offering. International guests praised Indian traditions and enjoyed the elaborate Indian cuisine served at the event.

Srishti Tyagi comes from a Bulandshahr family settled in California. Her father, Moolchand Tyagi, who came to California as an engineer in 1987, felt the wedding should be held in his ancestral village. The bridegroom Mohit Bhardwaj is of Indian origin and employed with Apple working in Africa.

The uniqueness of the wedding lies in its cultural fusion because it attracted 12 international guests. Foreign participants were captivated by the magnificence of Indian rituals and engaged in dances of celebration; video clips highlighting such action are popular on websites.

While it was a welcome dose of modernity that ushered into many families, this family's commitment to Indian tradition, particularly to their daughter's wedding, resonated with most. From vintage cars to atmosphere galore, the event stood out as a harmonious blend of cultures.
