Dubai is renowned for its iconic skyscrapers like the Burj Khalifa and Princess Tower, but beyond the glamour lies the hard work of thousands of laborers, many of whom come from India and Pakistan. A large number of these workers, particularly from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar in India, work on construction sites, helping build Dubai's grand skyline. A recent viral video has offered a heartbreaking glimpse into the difficult lives these workers lead, far from the luxury associated with Dubai.

A Melting Pot of Laborers from Different Countries

The camp featured in the video is home to thousands of workers from countries such as Bangladesh, Pakistan, China, and India, who return to rest in rows of bunk beds after long days of work. Similar videos have surfaced in the past, but this one has quickly gained over 600,000 views in just 24 hours, sparking widespread engagement and comments.

Reactions from Netizens

The video has garnered mixed reactions, with some comparing the conditions to an "animal farm." Pranav Roy commented, “It’s no better than a chicken farm,” while Tushar Jalavadiya advised, “It’s better to stay in India with your family; no amount of money is worth living in such conditions.” Radhika added, “They talk about earning good money in Dubai, but the internet shows the harsh reality.” Ashwani Atwal likened it to a "jail."

However, not all the feedback was negative. Adil Chaudhary pointed out that workers are given a three-hour break during the summer, with air-conditioned rooms and toilets provided for comfort. He also mentioned that buses transport workers between their living quarters and work sites, and no more than six people are allowed in a single room.

This viral video serves as a reminder that behind Dubai’s glitz and glamour are the stories of migrant workers facing challenging conditions.
