The Economic Explosives Ltd-developed system is designed to deliver "hard kills" on enemy UAVs while maintaining affordability. Additionally, it includes a soft-kill layer for comprehensive coverage against diverse UAV threats. The system can seamlessly integrate with the armed forces' network for advanced, network-centric operations.
Recent tests at Gopalpur Seaward Firing Ranges demonstrated its ability to neutralize threats at a range of over six kilometers. Capable of firing up to 64 micro-missiles simultaneously, Bhargavastra offers a scalable solution to counter large-scale drone attacks. Mounted on a mobile platform, it ensures rapid deployment to high-risk zones.
Designed for operation across all terrains, including high-altitude regions, the system has undergone trials observed by senior Army officials. More extensive tests are planned this year, paving the way for its induction into the Indian armed forces, providing a cutting-edge response to modern aerial threats.
