Builder Rashid Accused of Sexual Harassment in Land Deal Scam

Builder Rashid faces accusations of sexual harassment after allegedly luring a woman under the guise of a land deal. Police in Mangaluru have launched a thorough investigation.
 

Mangaluru, October 26: Builder Rashid is accused of serious sexual harassment for allegedly luring a woman on the pretext of taking her to see a plot of land. The matter has been referred to police investigations after a complaint was lodged at Mangaluru Women's Police Station.

Mangaluru Builder Faces Sexual Harassment Probe in Land Deal

In the statement of the victim, on 21 October she accompanied Rashid to watch a property in Kushalnagar. Although they had agreed to stay in separate rooms of a hotel, Rashid asked her to stay with him in the same room, and she declined the advance made by him. She, therefore, decided to sleep in her sister's house at Virajpet that day.

The following day, she accompanied Rashid to view the land. She then contends that Rashid committed improper acts and attempted to rape her by threatening to give her money. After turning him down, he reportedly threatened to beat her and instructed her not to disclose this incident.

The FIR against Rashid has been registered on the basis of the well-articulated complaint lodged by the victim. After this, the Mangaluru Women's Police Station initiated an investigation and started gathering evidence and recording statements from the witnesses to support the allegations raised by the victim.

This case has therefore received so much attention because one of the parties involved is well known within the locality as well as the seriousness of accusations.
