Delhi Assembly Elections 2024: fter being wiped out in 2020, Congress is gearing up for a strong comeback in the 2024 Delhi Assembly elections. By fielding experienced and prominent leaders in its first candidate list, the party has set the stage for a potential triangular contest.

New Delhi Seat: Kejriwal vs. Sandeep Dikshit

Congress has fielded former MP Sandeep Dikshit from the New Delhi constituency, traditionally held by Arvind Kejriwal. With Sandeep Dikshit entering the fray, the battle for this seat has become intense. If Kejriwal contests from here, it promises to be a direct and fierce face-off between Congress and AAP.

Congress Focuses on Social Engineering

Congress has carefully balanced caste and community equations while announcing its first list of 21 candidates:

Tickets to three Muslim candidates and two women

Representation for Brahmins, Jats, Gujjars, Dalits, Vaishyas, Sikhs, and Punjabis

Chandni Chowk’s candidate, Mudit Agarwal, is the son of former MP JP Agarwal, while Ali Mehdi, son of former MLA Ahmed Hassan, is contesting from Mustafabad.
