From Kanpur to IAS: Kritika Mishra's Rise from UPSC Topper to Prominent Officer

Kritika Mishra, an IAS officer from the Bihar cadre, has recently garnered significant attention. Hailing from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Mishra has captured the spotlight for her exceptional achievements in the civil services arena.

 

Mishra completed her education in the arts stream, finishing her 12th grade and undergraduate studies before embarking on her career. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Kanpur University. Her remarkable journey in the Indian Administrative Service began with her securing the 66th rank in the UPSC examination in 2021. Notably, Mishra was the topper in the Hindi medium category of the UPSC Civil Services Exam for that year.

 

The daughter of Diwakar Mishra, a teacher at an intermediate college, and a mother employed with the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC), Kritika Mishra's achievements are a point of pride for her family and her hometown. Despite the challenges, she succeeded on her second attempt at the UPSC exam, having previously failed to clear the interview stage on her first try.

Recently, there has been speculation on social media suggesting that Mishra might be linked to a prominent political family, adding to her public profile. Nevertheless, her focus remains on her role as an IAS officer, where she continues to make significant contributions in her field.
