In an amazing twist of fate, a plumber from Sirsa district in Haryana has turned out to be an overnight crorepati after winning ₹1.5 crore in the Punjab State Lottery. The 4-year-long wait of buying lottery tickets finally paid off when Singh's number came in the lucky draw held on December 3. He did not believe his ears as he received the phone call informing him about his big win. Being skeptical, Singh verified his luck with the help of his friend and found that his lottery number matched online.

Mangal Singh had bought lottery tickets for the last four years, and this time was his lucky one. His luck was drawn on 3 December night, while by the morning of December 4, Sumit, the operator of a lottery agency from Mansa (Punjab), called to inform Singh about his success. A plumber had bought his ticket just four days before the draw and now stands to win a life-changing sum.

As the news of Singh's win spread, officials of the Income Tax Department were also seen visiting his residence to guide him on availing the lottery amount. Excited but cautious at the same time, he submitted his claim for the prize money on Thursday. His prize money of ₹1.5 crore is likely to enter his account soon and in the blink of an eye, his life would undergo a sea change.
