Reports later clarified that the video was unrelated to his Bishnoi statement and was filmed when Shekhawat was detained by Gujarat police during a protest against BJP leader Parshottam Rupala's controversial remarks on Rajputs. Lawrence Bishnoi News: Reward Announced for Gangster’s Encounter

The recent statement issued by Kshatriya Karni Sena president Raj Shekhawat regarding offering a whopping reward of Rs 1,11,11,111 for any policeman who meets notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has ignited the social media, and several people have responded in heated debates and many have shared their own or rumored videos. Within hours of Shekhawat's statement, a video doing the rounds which apparently features Shekhawat being thrashed has emerged. A video depicts some groups of people trying to put Shekhawat into a car forcefully, and in the commotion, his turban falls off. It has already increased the debate over the Lawrence Bishnoi case and the fresh tensions seen among some quarters of the community.

The viral video is however unrelated to the statement concerning Lawrence Bishnoi. Reports indicate that it was taken when Shekhawat was arrested by Gujarat police for attempting to protest against the controversial statement made by BJP leader Parshottam Rupala about Rajputs. Members of the Rajput community had taken out protests over such derogatory remarks of Rupala where they called the historical alliances of Rajput rulers with British rulers. When Shekhawat went to Gujarat to lead a protest at the BJP headquarters in Gandhinagar, he was detained by the police when he arrived at Ahmedabad Airport. The video widely circulated afterwards has had various interpretations-probably simply underlining how things are complex and the strong reaction in the community.
