Modi’s US Visit: Quad Leaders' Summit and Key Global Talks

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has embarked on a three-day visit to the United States, where he will participate in high-level global discussions, including the sixth Quad Leaders' Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, on September 21. Hosted by US President Joe Biden, the summit will also see the presence of Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. The Quad forum, comprising India, the US, Australia, and Japan, focuses on promoting peace, progress, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region. India is set to host the Quad Leaders' Summit in 2025, further cementing its role in the region's stability and development.

The Quad discussions will explore ways to enhance regional security, economic collaboration, and strategic partnerships, especially in the wake of growing geopolitical challenges in the Indo-Pacific.

PM Modi’s Agenda: UN Address and Strengthening US-India Ties

Following the Quad Summit, PM Modi will travel to New York to address the United Nations General Assembly’s 'Summit of the Future,' a pivotal event described by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres as a "once in a generation" summit. This event, scheduled ahead of the UN’s 80th anniversary in 2025, offers global leaders an opportunity to shape a secure and sustainable future for humanity. PM Modi emphasized India's significant role in fostering global peace, noting that as a country with one-sixth of the world’s population, India holds a vital stake in ensuring global stability.

During his visit, Modi will also engage with the Indian diaspora in New York and meet with prominent American business leaders. Additionally, he is set to hold talks with President Joe Biden to strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, with a focus on mutual benefits for both nations and global welfare.
