Sadhguru Says Kailash Group Caught in Tibet Flash Flood, Rescue Efforts Underway

A flash flood at Gyirong in Tibet has affected a group of people returning from the Kailash pilgrimage, with Sadhguru saying that rescue efforts are being made to help those caught in the disaster.

In a post on social media, Sadhguru said one of the Kailash groups was at the immigration office in Gyirong when the flash flood occurred. According to him, the building and a large part of the town appeared to have been flooded.

Sadhguru said there was no official information at the time about the whereabouts of the people who were at the immigration office.

He said volunteers and support teams were working to help with the rescue and were in contact with the authorities to see whether they could reach the affected location.

“We are working with the authorities to see if we can get to the location and stand ready to be part of the rescue efforts, regardless of the risk involved,” Sadhguru said.

He also shared an update on the people taking part in the Kailash Sojourn.

Of the 21 groups travelling as part of the Sojourn, 495 people had already returned safely. Another 743 people were in Tibet, while 148 people were in Nepal.

Sadhguru said 77 people had been at the immigration centre when the flash flood occurred. Three volunteers were in Timure, Nepal.

Sadhguru expressed concern for the families and loved ones of those affected by the incident. He said he shared their pain and that every possible effort was being made during the difficult situation.

He also said he was personally in the region to make sure that the best possible help could be provided under the circumstances.

The flash flood has created a difficult situation in the area, with rescue teams and authorities working to understand the situation and reach those who may be affected.
