The YEIDA flat scheme near the upcoming Noida International Airport, located in Sector 22D, has been facing significant challenges, despite initial promises of better living conditions. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) launched this housing scheme with great anticipation, but residents have encountered several issues that have hampered its success.

One of the main concerns raised by residents is the lack of basic facilities in the area. Many who were allotted flats under the scheme in 2014 had to wait until 2021 to take possession. However, even after receiving their flats, the properties were not fully prepared, leaving many people reluctant to move in. Reports indicate that there is no water supply, with residents depending on electricity that often gets cut off, leaving them waiting for days for its restoration. Moreover, the area lacks essential services such as government schools and hospitals, which are crucial for the development of any community.

Road connectivity is another issue plaguing the YEIDA flat scheme. Residents must travel long distances to access basic amenities, as the area is not well-connected by roads. Although the residents have raised these concerns with local authorities, the required improvements have not yet been made. Additionally, security issues have emerged, with reports of transformers being stolen. The security measures in place, including two guards and a planted office, have proven to be insufficient.

Despite these challenges, a few businesses, like Vivo and Patanjali, have established their plants in the area, which offers some hope for future development. However, the lack of basic infrastructure and amenities continues to deter people from fully embracing the scheme, leaving it struggling to fulfill its promise of a better lifestyle.
