When Xiao Jia finally discovered his true financial situation, she opted not to divorce him but instead brought up their child while asking him to abandon them.

But Xiao Jun didn't quite stop there. Soon, he met yet another woman named Xiao Hong through an online game using once again the same story of wealth and money. He even convinced her to lend him 140,000 yuan (about 16 lakh INR) for building a future together. Embracing the success story, he continued his elaborate charade, dating three more women—a university student, a nurse, and another woman—all within the same building complex, conning them out of around 280,000 yuan (31 lakh INR) to support his fictitious lifestyle.

It was at this juncture that one of those women involved in his scam, Xiao Xin, also began to suspect him for failing to pay back the money that she had advanced to him to pay for tuition fees. He subsequently caused a massive storm after a luxury car and a sack of fake money, which he used, followed him following a strange incident. In accepting her mistake, Xiao Xin then had him reported to the authorities with the success of this four-year charade in deception.
