US President Election 2024: Donald Trump to Take Oath in the Same Building Where He Faced Trial: How's The Inauguration Process?
Donald Trump has won the presidential elections and is going to become the next President of the United States. His presidency will begin formally on January 20 with him taking an oath at the U.S. Capitol building at noon. He and his wife, Melania Trump-the new First Lady-will then move to the White House upon the inauguration. A joint committee of the U.S. Congress ensures that the inaugural ceremony is prepared. Planning is expected to start on January 6 following the formation of the committee.

Swearing-in begins on January 20 at noon, U.S. time. His wife, Melania, as well as other members of his family, will escort Trump into the Capitol. Mrs. Melania will probably carry a copy of the Bible and the United States Constitution as President-to-be places his right hand on them to take his oath of office with an oath to protect the Constitution as he starts his duties as president. He will start his work in the presidential office located in the Capitol by signing his first official document after the ceremony.
Letter in the Oval Office
It is traditional for the outgoing President to leave a letter for the incoming one in the Oval Office. While he would miss Joe Biden's inauguration in 2020, Trump attempted to make himself a bit like Ronald Reagan by leaving a letter for his successor on the desk of the President's table in the Oval Office. Biden can, in turn, leave a letter for Trump. Until the inauguration, Trump-the President-elect-will be briefed on many issues critical to him and his administration by the Biden administration. Vice President Kamala Harris, who had contested against Trump, has also accepted the outcome of the election and agreed to a peaceful transfer of power.
Kamala Harris made an indirect reference to the January 6, 2021, incident wherein Trump supporters stormed the Capitol building in protest over Trump's denial of his loss in the presidential election. After the storming, an impeachment trial was conducted against Trump, and charges were filed for inciting insurrection.
Trump Expresses His Gratitude To His Supporters
In his victory speech, Donald Trump thanked his supporters. "This victory is incredible for me. I will make America great again. God saved my life for this day," he declared. A close encounter with death awaited him on July 13 when a bullet grazed his ear and failed to kill him in Pennsylvania, an assassination attempt narrowly missed. Responding to his victory, he said, "We have achieved what seemed impossible to people.". That will be the most stunning victory in American history. I will solve the problems for this nation and fight for America's families and their future.
