Battlefield Labs Drama: EA Reminds Fans Not All Features Are Final

With Battlefield Labs playtesting at full pace, the buzz around the future Battlefield title is spinning wildly. Leaks and rumors about new things have been frequent, suggesting what gamers may see in the final build. But EA is coming in to set the record straight: not all that is being tested in the Labs is going to happen.

Battlefield Labs has been conceptualized as a testbed, with free rein for developers to try out new concepts and get player feedback. Global Community Manager Totalfps posted on Reddit to clear the air of increasing hype, asking players to keep expectations in check.

"Alright, that's enough," their post started. "What gets implemented in Battlefield Labs might or might not end up in the final game. The goal of this program is to experiment with creative concepts, gather feedback from participants, and determine possible bugs."

The post also called out individuals sharing confidential content in breach of the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Totalfps explained that the leakers might be removed from the program, continuing, "Chasing fleeting internet fame by breaching the NDA dilutes our attempts to be open with the community."

For the time being, fans are encouraged to keep rumors in perspective. EA has not yet announced which features will be included at launch. The next Battlefield title is still due later this year on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
