Hyundai Creta Flex Fuel and Electric Versions Debut at Bharat Mobility Expo 2025
Hyundai Creta Flex Fuel and Electric Models: The 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo showcases the Hyundai Creta Flex Fuel, featuring a 1.0L turbocharged engine running on ethanol blends, and the Creta Electric, offered in multiple variants with two battery options. Pricing starts at Rs 17.99 lakh.

Hyundai introduced a flex-fuel version of the Creta at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo. This model, powered by a modified 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, can run on ethanol fuel blends, including E100, as well as regular petrol. The engine, derived from Hyundai’s i20 N and Venue N Line models, is expected to produce around 118 bhp and 172 Nm of torque. While Hyundai has not provided additional details or a launch timeline, this flex fuel Creta marks the company’s effort to offer more eco-friendly driving options.
Hyundai Creta Electric
In addition to the flex fuel version, Hyundai officially launched the Creta Electric at the event. The electric model is available in five trims—Executive, Smart, Smart(o), Premium, and Excellence—with prices ranging from Rs 17.99 lakh to Rs 23.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Buyers can choose between a 42 kWh or a 51.4 kWh battery pack. The larger battery offers a claimed range of approximately 473 km and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.
Hyundai states that using a DC fast charger, the Creta Electric can reach 80% charge in about 58 minutes. An 11 kW AC charger is also available for home installation, though higher household power capacity may be required, potentially increasing electricity costs.
Challenges for EV Adoption in India
While Hyundai’s advancements showcase the potential of EVs, common industry challenges remain. Long charging times and limited access to fast chargers present obstacles for Indian buyers. Although DC fast chargers offer quicker charging, they cannot be easily installed at home, and the reliance on them can raise long-term costs. Compatibility and charging infrastructure improvements will be crucial for widespread EV adoption in India.
