KTM 390 Enduro R India Launch: Dual-Sport Beast with 399cc Engine & Switchable ABS

KTM has launched its first Enduro motorcycle in India—the 390 Enduro R—with off-road prowess and street-legal adaptability. Designed for explorers riding challenging terrain and city streets, the bike boasts a 399cc LC4c single-cylinder engine (same as the Duke 390) retuned for BS6 readiness. The major changes are amended gear ratios, a Power Assisted Slipper Clutch, and an optional Quickshifter+. Service intervals are 7,500 km post-first 1,000 km inspection.
Chassis & Suspension
The Enduro R gets a steel trellis frame with a bolt-on subframe and a gravity die-cast swingarm. Off-road capability is enhanced with 200mm front travel through a 43mm WP open cartridge fork and 205mm rear travel with a WP APEX monoshock. Spoke wheels with knobby tires (90/90R21 front, 140/80R18 rear) provide traction on rough surfaces, and ByBre brakes (285mm front, 240mm rear) with switchable ABS provide control.
Ergonomics & Tech
A 9-liter metal fuel tank, narrow bodywork, and off-road-oriented riding position add to maneuverability. Ground clearance is increased by a new airbox design, and a stainless-steel exhaust reduces weight. Tech features consist of a 4.2-inch TFT instrument panel with anti-glare coating, USB-C charging, and Bluetooth connectivity for navigation/music control through smartphone.
