Mahindra's XUV.e9 Electric Car: Zooming In with 450km Range to Challenge the Nexon EV!

Mahindra's XUV.e9 Electric Car: The launch of electric vehicles in India is picking up pace, with Tata and Mahindra leading the charge in offering a variety of EV options. Mahindra is gearing up to introduce its XUV.e9 model in the coming months, which will be showcased at the Auto Expo next year. This new electric coupe-SUV will be based on the Mahindra XUV700 platform, and new information about the model has started to emerge ahead of its launch.
According to reports, the electric XUV.e9 will be available exclusively with a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) option, meaning an all-wheel-drive variant may not be offered. This decision could be aimed at keeping costs down. The new XUV.e9 will be built on Mahindra's INGLO platform, providing ample space for passengers and cargo.
Stylish Design and Advanced Features
The design of the new XUV.e9 is expected to be stylish, featuring a coupe-like body style. It will showcase a prominent faux grille and distinctive headlight clusters, setting it apart from the existing XUV700. Additionally, the car may feature twin-edge boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and a premium piano black finish on the exterior.
Inside, the cabin will be equipped with a state-of-the-art three-screen display setup, including a 12.3-inch display, enhancing the tech-forward appeal of the vehicle.
Battery and Range
The new Mahindra XUV.e9 is anticipated to come with an 80 kWh battery pack and a single motor setup, offering an impressive range of 435 to 450 kilometers on a single charge. However, the company has yet to release official details regarding these specifications. Additionally, the vehicle will feature a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function for power supply needs.
The launch of the new XUV.e9 electric car is expected by April 2025, with a projected price range of ₹18 to ₹20 lakh. It is set to compete directly with the Tata Nexon EV in the Indian market.
