Samsung Launches One UI 8 Beta with Android 16 Ahead of Foldables Release

Samsung has officially opened the One UI 8 beta program, only a few months following One UI 7. Samsung also announced that its latest foldable phones, Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, will be the first to arrive with Android 16 and One UI 8.

As some Galaxy phones continue to receive One UI 7 with Android 15, Samsung is already gearing up to bring its flagship phones to Android 16 this summer. This rapid update attempts to compensate for the initial delay in One UI 7 release but also brings into question what new features and UI improvements One UI 8 will offer mere six months after its parent.

The company announced that the One UI 8 Beta Program is focused on bringing more enhanced artificial intelligence, productivity, and convenience to users. The next-gen foldables will bring the upgrade during the summer and sequentially roll it out to more Galaxy devices.

The One UI 8 beta is already out for the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra in some countries like Germany, South Korea, the UK, and the US. Consumers in those regions can register for the beta and get a head start on testing the new OS features.

One UI 8 guarantees improved multimodal functionality with a personalized user experience from diverse categories of devices. Major enhancements include enhancements within the Now Bar and Now Brief features that utilize on-device AI for presenting users with personalized insights.

Samsung also enhances Quick Share with new "Send" and "Receive" tabs solely focused on smoother file transfer. In addition, the Samsung Internet browser also sees minor changes, such as new menu shortcuts for an enhanced navigation experience.

The beta program provides users with early access to these features prior to the stable release.
