Unlock Your Phone Without a Password: Enable This Setting in Advance

In today’s digital world, passwords have become essential for securing our devices. However, remembering all those passwords can be challenging, and it's especially frustrating when you forget your own phone's password. But don’t worry! If you set up your phone correctly beforehand, you can still unlock it even if you forget the password. All you need to do is follow these simple steps.

How to Unlock Your Phone Without a Password?

Go to your phone’s settings.
In the settings menu, you will find the option "Security & Privacy."
Scroll down and click on "More Security & Privacy."
Keep scrolling until you see the "Extended Unlock" option. Tap on it.
You will be asked to enter your current lock screen password. After doing so, click on "Got It."
Under Extended Unlock, you'll see three setup options:

  • On-body Detection: This feature keeps your phone unlocked as long as it is in your hand or on your body.
  • Trusted Places: This allows you to set specific locations, such as your home or office, where your phone will automatically unlock when you're in that area.
  • Trusted Devices: With this option, your phone will unlock whenever it is connected to a trusted device, like a smartwatch or Bluetooth speaker.

Do note that these options may have different names depending on the device, so follow the process based on your phone model.
