YouTube’s Big Update: Banned Channels Reinstated and 3-Minute Long Videos Now Allowed in Shorts!
YouTube’s Big Update:Due to violations related to spam, fake content, and fraud, many channels have been removed from YouTube. This action has affected not only content creators but also users who have never uploaded videos. Reports suggest that even YouTube Premium subscribers have been impacted by these removals.
Users were notified about the bans and channel removals via email. Many expressed disappointment, particularly about losing access to their saved playlists and music libraries.
Some users have successfully appealed the bans and regained access to their accounts, although certain users still cannot access their playlists despite their appeals. Others, however, have had full account recovery, including their playlists and other content.
YouTube has acknowledged the issue and is actively working to restore removed channels and reinstate access to paid subscriptions like YouTube TV, YouTube Premium, and YouTube Music. For those whose accounts have been reinstated but are still missing playlists, the platform promises that their content will be restored soon.
Additionally, media reports indicate another significant change by YouTube: users can now upload longer videos to YouTube Shorts, with a new limit of three minutes. While videos exceeding this length can still be uploaded to YouTube, they will only appear in the regular video section, not as Shorts.
This update provides more flexibility for creators, allowing them to upload longer content in the Shorts format while maintaining the original section for standard-length videos.
