Ather Energy, an electric two-wheeler firm that offers the 450 Plus and 450X electric scooters, has set up over 1,000 fast-charging stations called Ather Grids throughout 80 Indian towns. By the end of 2023, the business aims to have more than 2,500 fast-charging grids installed.
With 60% of its existing installations in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, the Ather Grid, which was developed and constructed in India, is touted as the nation’s largest fast-charging network for two-wheeler EVs.
Ather Energy gave its IP for the charging connector to all original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) earlier, clearing the path for an interoperable two-wheeler fast-charging platform. Ather Energy is focused on developing a robust fast-charging network.
The company claims that the fast-charging stations allow EV owners to charge their cars at 1.5 km/min and up to 80% of their capacity. The Ather Grid app, which supports the charging network, enables all EV owners to find and instantly check the status of the closest charging stations.
All electric two-wheelers and electric four-wheelers can utilise the fast-charging network, which is available for free until March 2023.
