2021 Mahindra XUV500 was spied testing once again, revealing more interesting details about the second-generation vehicle.

The SUV was sporting a petrol badge, which makes it clear that it will receive Mahindra’s new mStallion 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine.

Mahindra’s mStallion 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine and mHawk 2.2-liter diesel engine debuted in the second-generation Thar.

The petrol engine will likely produce 190PS in the new XUV500. Thus, this will make it the most powerful SUV in its segment.

The diesel could generate around 180PS. The previous spy shots of the interior had revealed the instrument cluster.

It also revealed part of the larger Mercedes-inspired twin-screen floating display, which also accommodates the infotainment system.

Also, previous spy shots suggested that the XUV500 will feature a panoramic sunroof for the first time.

2021 Mahindra XUV500 expected price

The second-generation XUV500’s launch has witnessed significant delays, which could be due to a global semiconductor shortage.

However, it may launch soon, followed by the next generation of Scorpio.

The new XUV500 may arrive with a starting price of Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom) and compete with the likes of MG Hector, Tata Harrier and Tata Safari.
