Toyota India has shared a glimpse of the 2022 Toyota Glanza premium hatchback via a teaser image. The Japanese automaker has also announced the launch date of the 2022 Toyota Glanza facelift via the teaser photo itself.
So, Toyota Glanza facelft is all set to hit the Indian market on March 15, 2022. Recently, Toyota India had also posted a teaser video which revealed that there will be a voice command feature and the assistant can be invoked by saying “Hey Toyota”.
The video also revealed the new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, while the lower-end variants will offer a 7-inch unit. Also on the offer will be the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and would be connected to an Arkamys sound system.
2022 Toyota Glanza, Old vs New: Exterior
While the outgoing model was a straight-up rebadge of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, except for the grille, the front face of the facelift version of the Toyota Glanza will be quite different. Still, the shape of the headlamps as well as the projector setup remains the same as the Baleno.
However, the LED DRLs will be different. Unlike the Baleno, which features three elements for LED Daytime Running Lamps, the new Toyota Glanza will come with ab LED strip.
The new Glanza will roll on diamond-cut alloy wheels which will be slightly different. Rest of the car will retain the same design cues including the rear tail lamps, bumper and the side profile.
2022 Toyota Glanza: Features
Expect the features to remain the same as the Baleno as the Glanza is a rebadged Baleno with little changes.
The new Glanza is likely to feaure a heads-up display, a 360-degree parking camera, auto-dimming IRVM, rear AC vents, electrically adjustable ORVMs, auto-fold ORVMs, cruise control, keyless entry, push-button start/stop, automatic climate control, multi-information display, a multi-function flat-bottom steering wheel and more.
The Glanza will get dual airbags, Brake Assist and ISOFIX child seat mounts, a high-speed alert system, reverse parking sensors, Electronic brake distribution, an Anti-lock braking system as standard safety equipment.
Electronic Stability Control and Hill Hold Control will be offered with the top-end and with AMT variants.
The 2022 Toyota Glanza will come equipped with only a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine capable of churning out 90 PS of max power and 113 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT.
2022 Glanza will rival the likes of Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Honda Jazz and the upcoming Citroen C3.
