Maruti Suzuki intends to release a 7-seater SUV to compete with models like the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari.
According to the source, development has already started on the three-row SUV. The next vehicle, known as “Y17,” is anticipated to be based on the Grand Vitara and might be on sale as early as 2025.
The Global C platform will serve as the foundation for the seven-seat Grand Vitara, which will have a slightly longer wheelbase to accommodate the third row of seats. To set it apart from the 5-seater version, the SUV might get some distinctive exterior design features.
The same engine choices as the Grand Vitara’s five seats will presumably be available for Maruti’s upcoming three-row SUV. Currently, it is available with 1.5-liter petrol strong hybrid and mild hybrid powertrains.
According to reports, Maruti’s future factory in Kharkhoda, Haryana, would construct the 3-row Grand Vitara, making it the factory’s first mass-produced model.
