Modern automobile purchasers are becoming increasingly interested in the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). Formerly only available in high-end luxury cars like Volvo, Tesla, and Mercedes-Benz, this technology is now available in inexpensive cars in India. Nearly all mid-size luxury SUVs now provide consumers the option of adding ADAS. Like with any other technology, ADAS’s primary purpose is to help drivers prevent accidents, however many car purchasers abuse this capability as well. In one such instance, a video of a guy toying with his wife while driving on a highway in a Mahindra XUV700 has appeared online.
In the video, a man is seen enjoying himself with his wife while seated sideways and with his legs raised on the driver’s seat, all the while someone in the backseat is recording. All the while, the vehicle is employing ADAS features like Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist while travelling at a high speed on a highway. The user in the automobile, Afsar Ghudasi, first posted the footage, which has received criticism on social media.

This is not the first instance of a XUV700 user abusing ADAS technology to acquire popularity on social media. Another video of a man playing cards with his companions while seated sideways and with his legs raised on the driver’s seat recently went viral.
In the past, footage of the Mahindra XUV700 driving by itself on highways have appeared online. The car’s driver has come under fire over the footage, which went viral.
A key element of self-driving cars, ADAS technology provides features like adaptive cruise control, which maintains the speed of the car, automatic emergency braking, which stops the car, and lane keep assist, which helps a car stay in its lane. At best, ADAS is meant to help and avoid accidents rather than to completely take over driving. A Facebook user going by the name of Farhan Rajpoot posted the video there.

When a car reaches Autonomous Level 3 or above, it has reached that level of autonomy. Artificial intelligence is also employed in these situations to enable autonomous driving in vehicles.
