Triumph Indian has launched the all new iteration of its flagship 1200 cc model the Tiger, the bike was teased last month and has been launched today the company has revealed every key as aspects of the bike here is a in detail, here is a look at the new additions to the Tiger 1200. Bike used to be sold in India in the BS4 format with a price tag of about 17 lakhs which has been revised to about 19 lakhs for the most basic tiger 1200.


The Triumph Tiger would be launched in 4 variants , GT Pro, GT Explorer, Rally Pro. The adventure motorcycle , would be available in two different color options as well, Sapphire Black and Snowdonia white. The rally pro and the rally explorer variants will be available in exclusive Matt Khaki green option , while the Gt pro and explorer would be available in Lucerne blue theme.

New Design Features

The 2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 comes with a redesigned front profile, featuring a sleeker LED headlamp, a horizontal LED daytime running light, and a “masculine” fuel tank. As far as braking is concerned, the bike has twin 320 mm floating discs at the front with Brembo M4.30 Stylema monoblock radial callipers and a single 282 mm disc with a Brembo single-piston calliper at the rear. The Pro variants feature a 20-litre fuel tank, while Explorer variants have a larger, 30-litre fuel tank.

A lot of innovation has went into shedding the weight of the bike which would increase its performance on road and off road as well. The new frame under the bodywork is  5.5kg lighter than before, the double-sided swing arm  bound to the rear tire has shed 1.5kg over the single-sided design of the Previous model, and this new Tiger gets aluminum molded fuel tank. The end result is that the updated bike is over 25kg lighter than its predecessor.


The motorcycle is powered by a 1,160 cc three cylinder engine with a T-plane firing order, it creates 150hp at about 9000 rpm and 130 NM peak torque at 7000 rpm, the engine works while mated to a manual transmission. Triumph alleges its an all new motor even while its shares quite a lot of its numbers with the  speed triple 1200.

Tech features

 New features such as 7-inch TFT display screen, Keyless ignition, Traction control, Hill-hold control,Cruise control,USB charger And  Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)  would be provided with the bike. Radar system that facilitates a blind spot and lane change warning system. featuring lean sensitive cornering lights, a 7-inch Bluetooth-equipped TFT display, electronic suspension, up to six riding modes, an up/down quickshifter, hill hold, cruise control, heated grips and keyless operation and a heated pillion seat on the explorer variants.


The bike would compete against the likes of Harley Davidson Panamerica 1250 BMW 1250 GS as well a s Ducati Multistarda.
