Auto Driver Grows Garden On Auto’s roof To Beat The Heat, How practical is it ?

Published Date:

The scorching heat in India seems to have no relief and end to it , hence people have invented their own ways to beat the heat this summer. But we didn’t expect any measure this bizarre to beat the heat, a auto rickshaw driver form Delhi grew a garden on top his scooter to beat the heat.

This stunt or a pretty far stretched practical joke has gotten the driver a lot of media traction, with his auto being clicked  every where he goes. according  to him this mini park at his roof brings on smiles form his customers and helps him in keeping a cool auto. The driver says he got this idea two years ago while in peak heat of the summers.

He thought Due to heat and  increasing  humidity, he can grow some plants on the roof of the auto-rickshaw. He says that since he has grown these plants, his auto-rickshaw stays cool and his passengers say the same too. He has grown 20 varieties which include crops, shrubs and flowers. He even planted lettuce, tomato, and millets on his roof.

The auto rickshaw driver went into detail about how he did it , and he said that he first installed a thick sack mat on the roof which he would constantly douse with water and he then sprinkled a heavy layer of soil to help the plants develop. This ingenious idea helps him in protecting the auto from extreme heat.

While we would not recommend such measures to cool your car , here are a few practical ones that you can use In the daily routine.

Park in shade

While parking spaces are being squeezed to shells in the recent times finding one with shade would be hard but none less than helpful to keep the car cool .We recommend you to find parking spaces in the shade. Possibly under a tree or a building or in basement.

In case you have to park in direct sunlight, do not leave deodorants inside the car , as the inside temperature of the car can increase to a very high level and deodorants can burst open as well. Use black blinds to prevent the car from heating up while in parking.

You can also cover your car when not in use, using a car cover to help it beat the heat as well as keep the interiors cooler than normal. leaving a bit of a open window would also help in cooling the car but it would tarnish the interior with dust.

no matter what you do do not grow a garden on your roof.
