Maruti Suzuki Wagon R emerged as the best-selling passenger car in the Indian market in April 2021. Wagon R’s 18,656 units outsold its sibling Swift by a razor-thin margin.

Swift recorded the sales of its 18,316 units. The Alto entry-level hatchback which has been one of the consistent sellers for the company over years could not stay on top of the sales charts in recent times.

However, a total of 17,303 units of the car were sold by the carmaker in April 2021. The Baleno premium hatchback which competes with Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz attracted customers for its 16,384 units.

The Dzire compact sedan which has long been the best-selling sedan in the Indian market got customers for its 14,073 units.

Hyundai sold a total of 12,463 units of its Creta last month. The mid-size SUV improved its sales after it launched the second generation in the Indian auto market. It is considered as the key reason behind the rise in production.

The Grand i10 Nios grabbed the seventh position by attracting customers for its 11,540 units, while Maruti Suzuki’s Eeco found the eighth spot on the sales charts.
