Damage caused by cow to Tata Nexon EV charging port caught on camera

Published Date:

The problem of lost animals on Indian highways is severe. Numerous such cattle cause significant traffic accidents. The stray animals can be an issue even inside city limits. Here is a story from a Tata Nexon EV owner who claims that a stray object damaged his Nexon EV’s charging connector.

Sumit posts about the incident on Twitter. The damage the cow caused to the charging port is visible in a video that Sumit posted. When a cow entered his residence and tampered with the charger, the Tata Nexon EV was charging outside. While the automobile was charging, the plug was pulled.

It’s interesting to note that the connector locks when the charger is plugged into the vehicle to prevent situations like this from occurring. The charger had to have been forced out of the socket by the cow with a lot of force. The pictures demonstrate that the connector plug now appears to be inoperable, and the entire charger may need to be replaced.

The charging cable’s exact price is still unknown. However, the price of replacing wires from a third party can range from Rs 20,000 to Rs 35,000.

Stray cattle is a concern

A parked Tata Tigor was wrecked by a herd of stray cattle in another city. The herd is shown on a rampaging run in the CCTV footage. The wayward cattle struck the Tigor, which was parked on the side of the road, and caused damage. The Tata Tigor’s bodywork had numerous dents and scratches. The car owner was astonished to discover that a large herd of cattle was responsible for the damage to his vehicle after initially believing that hooligans had caused it.

On Indian highways, stray animals are another significant issue. Nothing significant has been done to get them off the roads. In order to increase the visibility of stray cattle at night, officials in Uttar Pradesh had high reflective tapes applied to their horns a few years ago. To yet, no action has been made to remove these risks from the road, though.

On Indian roads, it is usually advisable to drive cautiously and to check the road ahead before overtaking. When passing another vehicle, one should always be confident and aware of the road ahead. Blind overtaking can result in devastating accidents, especially on India’s unstable roadways, as evidenced by numerous recorded events from the past.

It is advisable to charge the car in a secure location. If you can’t locate a safe location inside, the best thing to do is to leave no space on the side of the car that charges. By doing this, we can make sure that no large animal can get to the charger and gnaw it or take it out like we showed in the movie.
