Ducati India confirmed earlier this week that the BS6-compliant Panigale V4 (Ducati Panigale V4 BS6) will hit the Indian market soon. The company announced this via their social media handles.
While Ducati hasn’t announced a launch date yet, we expect that the new bike may arrive in the next few days. Before the official announcement about the launch date, here’s what all we know so far about the Italian superbike.
Ducati Panigale V4 BS6: Design
Globally, Ducati Panigale V4 BS6 is available in four versions: Standard, S, R and SP. As for the Indian market, the company will introduce standard Panigale V4 and Panigale V4 S variants. The bike borrows styling cues from the discontinued version.
However, the latest version of the bike gets an aerodynamic package. The aerodynamic winglets will reportedly provide 30kg of downforce at 270kmph.
The bike will sport a twin-pod headlight, underbelly exhaust setup, full-fairing design, a rider-only saddle and a single-sided swingarm.
Bosch cornering ABS, wheelie control, traction control system, launch control, slide control, and engine brake control will come as standard electronic rider aids.
The list of features also includes LED headlights and a five-inch fully-digital colour display.
Both Panigale V4 and Panigale V4 S variants will pack a 1,103cc, Desmosedici Stradale 90-degree V4, liquid-cooled engine. The motor is capable of churning out 208bhp of maximum power at 13,000rpm and 124Nm of peak torque at 10,000rpm.
The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox assisted by a friction clutch mechanism and the two-way Ducati Quick Shift bidirectional quickshifter.
The respective hardware of the two variants makes them look different from each other. For example, the standard model has a manually adjustable Showa front forks and Sachs rear mono-shock.
On the other hand, the S version gets Ohlins’ electronically-adjustable shock absorbers.
Both variants get twin 330mm discs with four-piston Brembo Monobloc Stylema (M4.30) calipers and a single 245mm rotor with two-piston calipers.
Ducati Panigale V4 BS6: Expected Price
Pricing for the Ducati Panigale V4 BS6 variants may be slightly higher as compared to their respective predecessors. Hence, it is expected that the bike may cost Rs 21-22 lakh (ex showroom, India) onwards.
