Ertiga, Brezza and Grand Vitara lead the list: 9 months waiting periods, check details

Published Date:

The nation’s largest automaker, Maruti Suzuki, has reportedly seen a major increase in waiting times for several of its models as a result of the growing popularity of its lineup. There are rumours that some of the cars in its inventory have nine-month waiting lists for reservations. There have been reports of this waiting period lasting anything from 2.5 months and nine months. However, there are several versions with reduced wait times as well.

It should be noted that these times are approximate; nonetheless, they will normally be close to being the same. These times will still vary from city to city and from state to state. According to sources, MSIL’s extremely popular MPV Ertiga currently has a nine-month waiting list. The recently released sub-compact SUV, the Brezza, which has a wait time of up to three months, will come after that.

The Swift hatchback is the next item on the list, and owners will currently have to wait about 2.5 months for the car to arrive. In addition to them, there will be a three-month waiting time for vehicles like the Grand Vitara, XL6, and Baleno. The waiting period for the subcompact sedan Dzire series is also one month. On the other hand, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has a 1.5-month wait time.

On the other hand, the wait times for Maruti Suzuki’s more reasonably priced models, such as the recently released Alto, Wagon R, S-Presso, and Celerio, are rather low. For the Wagon R, S-Presso, and Celerio, it is less than a month; for the Alto, it is less than a week. The Maruti Ignis has a less than one-month wait time as well.

Additionally, it was recently disclosed that the Grand Vitara, the most expensive model the brand offers, had accumulated 56,000 bookings since going on sale three months ago. According to Maruti Suzuki, the new Grand Vitara currently accounts for 15% of its total backlog of reservations. The waiting period for this small SUV has also been reported to be between 2 and 9 months, depending on the city and the SUV model chosen.

In Delhi and Bengaluru, where they range between two and three months, SUV waiting periods are the shortest. Potential Grand Vitara buyers from cities like Noida and Ghaziabad, meanwhile, might have to wait up to nine months. The Grand Vitara has a waiting period of about 6-7 months and is also popular in western and southern India. The majority of reservations have reportedly been made for the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara’s lower-spec Sigma and Delta versions, which are propelled by the 1.5-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated K15C Dualjet petrol engine.

In other Maruti Suzuki India Limited news, the firm recently disclosed that it would increase the cost of its vehicles in the nation starting in January of the next year.

“The Company continues to observe rising cost pressure driven by overall inflation and recent regulatory requirements,” MSIL wrote in a recent regulatory filing. It has become necessary to pass on some of the damage through an increase in price, even though the company makes every effort to minimise costs and partially offset the increase. The Company has set this price hike, which will vary by model, for January 2023.
