Fiat Unveils its mid-size SUV

Italian automaker Fiat has unveiled a new SUV in the market. The new SUV, which is also known as Project 363, will be made available for sale in South America later this year.

It will be named through voting. According to the sources, SUV will share the platform with Fiat Argo and compete against Jeep Renegade and Hyundai Creta in the region.

Project 363

Fiat has been working on Project 363 for some time. It aims to develop an SUV for emerging markets like South America.

The SUV which is under development will help the automaker to make its entry in the ever-growing mid-size segment.

Design and Styling

The Fiat SUV will come with wide-wraparound headlamps, a wide grille with a big Fiat log at its center, and an improved bumper with two fog lamps.

It also gets rugged-looking skid plate upfront to improve its SUV stance, an upward swooping window line, and partial cladding at the bottom.

Top variants will be available in dual-tone paint options. At its back, the vehicle gets stylish taillights, a sculpted tailgate, and a bumper with an exhaust setup.

Engine and Powertrain

The new Fiat SUV will receive power from a 1.0-liter 128hp turbo petrol engine. The engine will come coupled with an Aisin-sourced CVT gearbox.

The new Fiat SUV will also get a 1.3-liter turbo petrol engine option, which is used by the South American-spec Jeep Compass. The base variant of the SUV will get a 1.3-liter 109hp naturally aspirated petrol engine.
